Update 14th June
The Summer Narrowcast was a huge success and has now been shown all around the globe! We’ve had comments from students and parents saying that they have been able to include family members living abroad in our show for the first time. That was something we hadn’t anticipated but we’re really pleased it has had such a positive impact.
Update 6th June
The Summer Narrowcast will Premier on Saturday 13th June at 10 am. You will be able to watch it premier on our Facebook page and our YouTube channel. Once the Premier has finished the Narrowcast will be available to view on demand.
Entries have been received for the Summer Narrowcast and it’s going to be our biggest show ever!
Interest in the Summer Music Streamer has really taken off with nearly 30 students wanting to take part. For those interested here is the vital information.
Video's need to be submitted by Friday 29th May
The show will stream on Facebook and YouTube at 10am on Satursday 13th
No student can take part in the event without filling in and returning the consent form. Videos submitted without the form will not be used.
Unfortunately, given the current situation it will not be possible to host a summer concert as we would do normally. However, that wont stop us. We will instead move the show online which opens up a whole world of creative opportunities. For more information please follow the link here.
As most of us are aware the Prime Minister will be announcing on Sunday 10th May his plan for getting students back into schools. We will let you know how this will affect your lessons as soon as we can.
Update 14/04/20 - Virtual Band
Many of our students are missing playing together in their school bands so we have decided to try running a virtual one. Parts and an example video will be sent out. Learn to play your part along with the example video, then make a recording of you playing. Please have the example video on headphones so that only your part can be heard. The deadline for this is Wednesday 22nd April
Now that we've settled into a routine of online music lessons I am pleased to say that lessons are continuing as normal. If you are interested in starting online lessons please insure that you have the online consent form signed and returned and a lesson time can be assigned to you.
Lessons Update 19/03/2020
CONTINUING MUSIC LESSONS
There can be no doubt that we are in an unprecedented situation with the schools closing this Friday for an indefinite period. However, this does not mean that your child’s music lessons need to pause – indeed, this may well give them something to put their energies into during the hiatus!
I will be running online instrumental and music theory lessons using either Zoom, Skype or FaceTime, continuing on from what has been learnt at school over the past two terms and ensuring the development over the last few months will not be lost.
For those interested in music theory I will also be offering a marking and mentoring service. Students will have the option of working through their music theory book and scanning pages for marking or taking interactive lessons, again ensuring that development continues rather than regresses while the various education establishments are closed.
I will also be launching a series of music puzzles and games which will be a great way to encourage music and keep idle fingers busy!
If you are interested in any of these services please do not hesitate to get in touch directly.
Lessons Update 17/03/20
Due to the current corona virus pandemic I wish to make clear the current position going forwards with regards to music lessons.
At the moment I do not intend to stop teaching unless the country is put on full lockdown. With this in mind I ask that, should you or anyone in your family start displaying cold or flu-like symptoms can you please let me know. I will not be able to provide your lessons until symptoms have subsided. Naturally, you will not be charged for these lessons. This way Storm Dynamics will be able to keep operating for as long as possible.
Your understanding with this is greatly appreciated.
Please note there will be no lessons on Friday 26th March due to a wedding.
Good luck to all those who chose to enter their ABRSM exams. The exam date will be Tuesday 10th March.
Wednesday 26th of March is the date for the Testbourne GCSE music concert in which student Hannah Cobble will be performing a duet with teacher Jo.
Half term runs from 17th - 23rd Feb. All private lessons will continue as normal. If you would like to change your lesson or cancel it for that week please let us know.
School starts this Monday 6th January so for many of you music lessons will start again this week as well. Please note that if your lessons are at St Mary Bourne Primary then you lessons will start again on Monday 13th January.
There will be no lessons on Friday 24th -Tuesday 28th January.
